Carrying Home
The river kept rising,
pulling at his legs,
asking him to surrender.
But some things are not abandoned so easily
So he lifted his home upon his shoulders—
every memory, every promise,
every laugh echoing through empty rooms
The weight was impossible.
Yet love has never cared much
for what is possible.
Step by step
through the dark water,
he carried what mattered most
toward higher ground.
For sometimes courage is not conquering the storm.
Sometimes courage is simply
refusing to let home drown.
