If I could give one piece of advice to someone younger than me, it would be this:
Don’t spend so much time worrying about what other people think of you.
When we’re young, we often try to fit in, meet expectations, and avoid making mistakes. We worry about saying the wrong thing, taking the wrong path, or disappointing others.
But life has taught me that the opinions of others matter far less than being true to yourself.
Follow your passions. Take chances. Make mistakes. Change direction if you need to. Some of life’s greatest lessons come from the moments that didn’t go according to plan.
Don’t rush through life either. The years pass much faster than you imagine. Treasure the small moments—the laughter around the dinner table, the walks in nature, the friends who stay beside you, and the people you love.
Most importantly, be kind to yourself.
You do not have to have everything figured out. Very few people do.
Trust your heart. Trust your journey. And remember that every challenge you face is helping shape the person you are becoming.
