Meeting the Bar: Legs Eleven

Still the Morning Comes

Some days arrive wearing the weight of rain

Still somewhere dawn rehearses light anew

The heart may wander valleys lined with pain

Yet small wildflowers insist on breaking through

The sky remembers blue beyond the strain

And tired wings recall what they once knew

Though storms may visit leaving ache to reign

The soul still leans toward something bright and true

We rise again through sorrow and surprise

We gather strength from where the silence sings

We learn that hope survives in hidden things

Hope I understood the prompt correctly.

We’ve had those days all week, Maggie, ‘wearing the weight of rain’ – and hail! – and this morning isn’t any different. I love the thought of small wildflowers that ‘insist on breaking through’ and the sky remembering ‘blue beyond the strain’. I hope we get some sun soon.
