Knoll.

Knoll—
a small hill,
they say.

As if height
must always be grand to matter.

But some places
do not ask
to be mountains.

They simply rise
gently enough
to offer perspective.

A quiet place
where the wind knows your name.
Where wildflowers grow without applause.

I think healing looks a little like a knoll—

not dramatic.
Not loud.

Just slowly finding higher ground after spending too long in the valley.

A pause between sorrow and strength.

A place to sit with your thoughts,
watching the horizon remember how to glow.

And maybe
the smallest rise in the landscape can still teach us 
something holy—

that even modest heights can change what 
we see.
