Between the Lights
He didn’t stop.
Not for the red glow stretching across the street. Not for the voices blurred into streaks of sound. Not even for the way the city tried to hold him in its endless loop of noise and neon.
He rode through it.
Lights bent around him—gold, blue, white—like the world had forgotten how to stay still. Buildings dissolved into color. Time loosened its grip.
Only the rhythm remained.
Pedal.
Breath.
Heartbeat.
There was something freeing about not being fixed. About becoming motion instead of resisting it. About letting the night swallow the edges of who you thought you were.
For a moment, he wasn’t a person navigating a city.
He was part of it.
A line of movement.
A pulse in the current.
A fleeting imprint that no one could hold.
Behind him, the lights closed again, as if he had never been there.
Ahead—
more blur.
More glow.
More unknown.
But he didn’t slow down. Because sometimes clarity isn’t found in stopping.
Sometimes—
you find it in the blur.
