In response to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge: https://wp.me/pfZzxd-uom

Sentient.

To feel.

To perceive.
To be aware
of more
than just existence.

It is not only
to live—
but to know
that you are living.

To sense
what moves
through you.

Emotion.
Energy.
Thought.

To recognize
the subtle shifts—within yourself,
within others,
within the space around you.

Sentience
is often spoken of
as intelligence.

But it is deeper
than that.

It is presence.

The quiet knowing
that you are here—experiencing,
responding,
becoming.

It is the ability
to feel
without needing
to explain.

To understand
without needing
to prove.

And sometimes…
it can feel overwhelming.

Because to be sentient
is to be open.

To receive
what is not always easy.
To notice
what others may not.

But within that…
there is connection.

To life.
To truth.
To something
greater than surface.

Because awareness
is not a burden.

It is a doorway.

A way of moving
through the world
with depth.
With sensitivity.
With meaning.
