In response to Ragtag Daily Prompt: https://wp.me/p9YcOU-6l2

Timid

She does not enter
with noise.

No loud arrival.
No need
to be seen
before she is ready.

Timid—
they call her.

As if softness
is something
to outgrow.

But they do not see
what lives beneath it.

The way she notices
everything.

The shift in tone.
The unspoken word.
The feeling
before it becomes visible.

Timid
is not empty.

It is full—
of awareness,
of depth,
of quiet knowing.

She steps carefully
not because she cannot walk—
but because she feels
where she is going.

And yes—
sometimes she hesitates.

Sometimes she holds back
just a little longer
than the world expects.

But when she moves…it is real.

Not forced.
Not borrowed.
Not loud
for the sake of being heard.

Just true.

Because courage
does not always roar.

Sometimes…

it begins
as a whisper
that says—

I’m ready now.
