They call it a
trifle.
Something small.
Insignificant.
Not worth the weight
of attention.
Just a detail.
Just a moment.
Just a feeling
brushed aside.
But it is often
the smallest things
that linger.
A word
said lightly
that echoes longer
than it should.
A glance.
A pause.
A silence
that speaks more
than sound.
A trifle—
until it isn’t.
Because what seems small
to one
may hold meaning
to another.
And hearts
do not measure
in scale.
They remember
in feeling.
So we learn—
slowly—
that nothing is evertruly insignificant.
Not the kindness
we almost didn’t give.
Not the hurt
we tried to ignore.
Not the quiet moments
that shape us
without asking permission.
Because sometimes…
what we call
a trifle—
is where the truth
first begins.
