In response to Ragtag Daily Prompt: https://wp.me/p9YcOU-6ih

A pauper
is often seen through what is missing.
No wealth.
No gold.
No measure
the world respects.
But the soul
does not count
in coins.
A pauper
may walk lightly—unburdened by what others chase.
Free
from the weight
of proving worth through possession.
Because what is owned
can be lost.
But what is lived—
what is felt—
what is carried within—
remains.
There are riches
the world cannot see.
Kindness
given without expectation.
Strength
built through survival.
A heart
that still opens despite everything.
And maybe…
that is the quiet truth.
That poverty
is not always the absence of things—
but sometimes
the absence of meaning.
And those who have little in the eyes of the world…
may still hold everything that truly matters.
