Bookmark
A place holder. A quiet promise that I will return.
I’ve always loved bookmarks more than the pages themselves sometimes—the way they mark a moment in time,a sentence half-read,a feeling not yet finished.
Life has bookmarks too.
Moments where everything pauses—not ending, just… waiting.
A conversation left mid-air. A decision postponed. A feeling I wasn’t ready to face yet.
I used to think bookmarks meant delay. Now I think they mean trust.
Trust that the story continues. Trust that I will find my way back to where I left off.
Some bookmarks are soft—ribbons, pressed flowers, memories held gently between pages.
Others are heavier. Moments I had to step away from, because I couldn’t read any further that day.
But even then,the page remains.
The story doesn’t disappear just because I needed a pause.
And maybe that’s the beauty of it—we are allowed to stop,to breathe,to place a marker and say:
I’ll come back to this.
