In response to Ragtag Daily Prompt: https://wp.me/p9YcOU-6ib

Not all laughter is kind.
Some echoes with an edge—a tone that cuts just beneath the surface.
Mock.
It wears humor like a disguise, but behind it lives something else.
Dismissal.Deflection. A way to shrink what it does not understand.
To mock is often to avoid.
To laugh at truth instead of facing it. To turn away from discomfort by making it smaller.
But truth does not dissolve under laughter.
It waits.
Steady. Unmoved. Unaffected by the noise around it.
Because what is real does not need approval.
And what is felt deeply cannot be erased by someone else’s ridicule.
So let them mock.
Let them misunderstand.Let them turn truth into something lighter just to carry it.
You don’t have to.
Because your knowing does not depend on their acceptance.
And your truth—quiet, grounded,unshaken—
remains.
