The Things That Don’t Shatter
They thought it would break.
That’s what fragile things are supposed to do.
Under pressure.Under time.Under the slow, relentless weight of days that ask too much.
It should have cracked the moment life shifted—when ordinary turned into something else, something heavier, something that didn’t come with instructions.
It should have splintered in the quiet hours,in the repetition,in the invisible exhaustion no one ever writes poems about.
But it didn’t.
It bent.
It softened in places where it used to be sharp.
It learned new shapes—ones that could carry more without making a sound.
From the outside, it still looks delicate.
Like glass. Like something you’d handle with care.
But inside—
it has become something else entirely.
Not harder. Not colder.
Stronger in a way that doesn’t need to prove itself.
Because some things don’t refuse to break out of stubbornness.
They refuse because breaking would mean losing what they’re protecting.
And this—
this fragile, quiet strength—this thing that keeps showing up even when no one is watching—
this is not weakness.
This is devotion that learned how to survive.
