Write a post inspired by the word forget.

Forget
I don’t think we truly forget the things that shape us.
We learn instead how to carry them differently.
Some memories soften with time, like edges worn down by the tide.
Others stay sharp, returning when we least expect them.
There are things I wish I could forget—words spoken, moments that changed everything.
But even those have become part of the person I am now.
Forgetting is not always healing.
Sometimes healing is remembering without breaking.
And maybe that is the real gift.
Not erasing the past, but learning how to live beside it.
Song from 1985 by Simple Minds. And the film Breakfast Club.
