What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

My mornings begin
not in stillness—
but in responsibility.
First, I get washed and dressed,
stepping into the day
before the sun has fully risen.
Some days start early—
really early.
If it’s a school day,
I’m up around 5 a.m.,
driving my youngest
to the bus at 6:20.
Other days carry a different weight.
Three mornings a week—
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday—
my husband has dialysis.
Those mornings are not just routines,
they are acts of care.
I help wash him,
get him dressed,
prepare him for the ambulance
that comes to take him.
It has been almost three years
since his accident—
three years of a different kind of life.
A life that asks for patience,
strength,
and a love that shows up
even when it’s tired.
And then…
there is Sunday.
My day of rest.
No alarms at 5 a.m.
No rushing.
Just sleep,
as long as my body needs.
A small, sacred pause.
Once the morning duties are done,
I return to myself.
Coffee in hand,
I scroll quietly,
catching up with the world—
before stepping into my own.
Into writing.
Into creating.
Into this space
where my voice lives.
Because even in a life full of giving…
there must be a place
where I can simply be.
