How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

I don’t see failure the way I used to.
There were moments that felt like collapse. Doors closing. Plans dissolving. Things I worked for slipping through my fingers.
At the time, it felt personal.
Now I see it differently.
Every “failure” forced me to adapt. To rethink. To rebuild. To grow thicker skin and a stronger spine.
I never give up.
Stubborn as a mule? Absolutely.
But that stubbornness has carried me through things that logic alone wouldn’t survive.
When something doesn’t work, I don’t stop. I adjust.
When a door closes, I stand there for a moment… and then I look for another entrance.
Apparent failures taught me:
• resilience
• discernment
• patience
• and when to pivot instead of push
Some of the things that didn’t work out saved me from paths that weren’t meant for me.
What felt like rejection was often redirection.
And sometimes success isn’t about winning.
Sometimes success is simply still standing — wiser, clearer, and more aligned than before.
So yes.
Stubborn as a mule.
But rising like a phoenix.
And that combination has taken me further than “perfect” ever could.
