Multimedia

I used to think multimedia meant technology.

Screens.
Sound.
Video layered over image.

But this week taught me differently.

Multimedia is life when it happens all at once.

Water rushing through the hall.
Mud under bare feet.
The echo of buckets filling.
The sound of wind testing the roof tiles.
The silence of daughters standing still.
The steady breath of a bedridden husband.

Flood is multimedia.
It arrives in surround sound.

But so is resilience.

The scrape of mops against tile.
The click of camera shutters documenting damage.
The hum of fans drying walls.
The quiet reassurances spoken softly at midnight.

I write.
I photograph.
I document.
I hold.

My life has never been one medium.

It is poetry layered over crisis.
It is image layered over memory.
It is voice layered over silence.

Multimedia is not just art.

It is survival expressed in more than one language.

And this week, my home became both stage and studio —
where water, fear, strength and faith all performed at once.
