Symmetry
Symmetry is comforting.
Two sides mirroring each other.
Equal weight.
Balanced lines.
We are drawn to it—
faces aligned,
architecture precise,
patterns repeating without flaw.
Symmetry promises order.
But life rarely agrees.
Hearts beat slightly off rhythm.
Clouds refuse identical shapes.
Stories twist where we expected neat endings.
Even the body—
one hand stronger,
one eye sharper,
one scar where there shouldn’t be.
Perfect symmetry is almost unnatural.
Too still.
Too controlled.
Real beauty lives in near-symmetry—
the small irregularities
that make something alive.
A face becomes memorable
because of the asymmetry.
A life becomes meaningful
because of the unexpected turns.
Symmetry may soothe the eye.
But imbalance grows the soul.
Perhaps balance is not about identical halves.
Perhaps it is about learning
to stand steady
even when the sides don’t match.
