Playful

Playful is not childish.

It’s courage without armour.
It’s laughter that refuses to ask permission.
It’s the spark that says
life doesn’t have to be heavy
all the time.

I used to think seriousness meant strength.
Now I know better.

Playfulness is resilience
that learned how to breathe.

It’s dancing in the kitchen
while the kettle boils.
It’s teasing the storm
instead of fearing it.
It’s choosing colour
when grey would be easier.

Playful doesn’t deny pain.
It simply refuses to let pain
have the final word.

There is power
in not taking everything personally.
In flirting with the moment.
In smiling at the absurdity of being human.

Today, I choose playful.

Not because life is simple—
but because I am still here
to enjoy it.
