Friday 13th | MM334

On Friday the 13th,
you’re supposed to rely on luck,
avoid black cats,
and step carefully around ladders.

Instead, I decided to rebel.

I walked under the metaphorical ladder,
patted the imaginary black cat,
and made my own coffee without consulting fate.

Because the more you rely on superstition,
the easier it is to resent the day
for doing exactly what days do —
existing.

And I refuse to resent a Friday
just because it’s numbered dramatically.

So here’s my plan:

Rely on humour.
Rebel against fear.
Resent absolutely nothing
that hasn’t earned it.

If Friday the 13th wants drama,
it can get in line 😄
