I reached into my pocket
expecting something useful —
keys,
money,
maybe dignity.

Instead, I found crumbs,
a mystery receipt,
and a paperclip that has seen things.

Life has a funny way of giving you a pinch
when you least expect it —
a small reminder that nothing stays tidy
for long.

So I decided to play instead.

If my pockets are chaotic,
my day might as well be joyful.

Shake out the crumbs.
Keep the paperclip.
Turn the pinch into a giggle.

Because sometimes adulthood
is just organised play
with slightly more paperwork .
