For this week’s writers workshop

Horizon

The horizon reminds me that not everything needs to be reached to be meaningful.
Right now, what takes up most of my mental space is learning how to live with uncertainty without shrinking.
I spend a lot of time thinking about what lies ahead, but also about what must be released.
The three characteristics I value most in a person are kindness, honesty, and self-awareness.
Without those, no future feels trustworthy.
Yes, I name inanimate objects, because it helps me feel connected to the world around me.
It turns the ordinary into something companionable.
What I love to create are words that build bridges between feeling and understanding.
Somewhere between here and the horizon, that feels like enough.
