Today’s Word: Volume
Volume
When I’m alone at home,
I turn up the volume
and let the walls remember
I’m alive.
Techno.
Club.
House.
The bass becomes a heartbeat,
the rhythm a release.
No apologies.
No neighbours’ ears to consider.
Just sound filling every corner
where silence once sat too heavily.
Volume isn’t just loudness.
It’s permission.
To feel bigger.
To shake loose what the day pressed down.
To let music say the things
words can’t reach.
Some people meditate in silence.
I do it with the volume up
and the world turned off.
