Generous

I used to think generosity meant
giving until I disappeared.

Time.
Energy.
Understanding.
Second chances that should never have been asked for.

I gave because I believed love was proven by endurance.

Now I know better.

True generosity has boundaries.
It is intentional, not exhausting.
It flows where there is respect,
not entitlement.

I am generous with truth.
With presence.
With kindness that doesn’t require self-erasure.

And I am generous with myself—
with rest,
with forgiveness,
with the right to say enough.

Generosity, now,
is no longer sacrifice.

It is choice.
