The Night the Earth Remembered

The moon hangs low,
not asking permission,
just remembering its older name.
Stone rises to meet it—
columns shaped by patience,
by water that once believed in touch.
They have stood through forgetting,
through skies that changed their minds.
Purple dusk holds its breath.
Even the wind listens.
The moon turns copper,
as if borrowing fire from the past,
as if blood is not violence
but lineage—
what runs through us when we endure.
Here, nothing rushes.
Time kneels.
Rocks pray without words.
And the sky, velvet and vast,
reminds us that transformation
is never loud—
it is slow, sacred,
and written into everything
that survives.
