The prompt for today is SLINKY.
Slinky
I didn’t know the word slinky
when I was younger,
but I lived it.
It’s the way I learned to move
through rooms without being seen,
to listen before speaking,
to leave before I was pushed.
Slinky is survival with soft edges.
Not loud.
Not bold.
Just careful enough to stay intact.
Now I see it differently.
There is power in quiet movement.
Grace in knowing when to stay unseen.
Wisdom in choosing your moments.
I no longer slink away from myself.
I step forward when it matters.
But I still know how to move
without making a sound.
And sometimes,
that’s strength.
