What is your all time favorite automobile?

Most people would probably answer with a famous car brand, a luxury model, or something sleek and powerful.
Mine is something far more special.
My favourite car of all time is the one my father built for me.
When I was little in the UK, I first had a small pedal car. I loved it — except for one thing… hills. I used to complain about how hard it was to pedal uphill
So my father did what fathers like mine do — he put an engine in it.
Later, when we moved to Norway, he built this car — the one in the picture — and this became my Formula X.
I remember being SO annoyed that my brother got his photo in the local newspaper with it instead of me 🤣
Of course the journalist came when I was at school!
Every winter we drove on the ice.
My father organised competitions, let others try the car, and we sold hot chocolate to raise money for the Red Cross and other organisations.
For anyone wondering — this wasn’t a tiny pond.
It was a huge lake:
• 3.5 km (2.2 miles) long
• 12.28 km (7.63 miles) shoreline
Every year, my father made a track on the ice, clearing snow and shaping winter fun with his own hands. I remember the winter of 1980 especially: –30°C, deep snow, frozen breath in the air… and yet there we were, racing, laughing, unstoppable.
And yes… I had the fastest lap time, professionally timed — at 10 years old. Many years later, my father proudly reminded me that no one ever broke my record.
One of my favourite memories:
Me and my older girl cousin once “delivered” the fundraising money to our local priest… by driving the car on the public road to his house 😇
He was shocked, then laughed — while our parents and cousins were… let’s just say… not amused 😂
This car isn’t just my favourite automobile.
It’s childhood.
It’s my father’s love.
It’s creativity, freedom, winter air, laughter, courage, and a little bit of mischief.
Some cars drive roads.
This one drove memories into my soul.
