DailyPrompt—2159

When are you most happy?

Happiness, for me, isn’t loud or dramatic.
It comes in waves.
In moments.
In breaths where life feels aligned with my heart.
I am happy when I’m listening to music —
and if my Spotify Wrapped is anything to go by
(183,826 minutes in 2025 😅),
I basically live inside music.
It holds me, energises me, and reminds me I’m still alive in colour.
I am happy when I’m creating and writing —
when words flow, when something inside me turns into something I can touch,
when thoughts become art and meaning finds a page.
I am happy when I’m with my family and friends —
the laughter, the conversations, the shared love,
the simple miracle of not having to face this world alone.
I am happy when I feel warm breeze on my face
and breathe in the scent of the ocean —
that soft moment when the world feels wide and gentle at the same time.
And I am happy when I am swimming —
held by water, quiet inside,
just me, moving, breathing, being.
Happiness doesn’t always shout.
Sometimes it whispers,
and I am learning to listen.
