Share Your World: 12th October 2026

Here are this week’s questions & my answers

Share Your World – 12 October 2026

It’s Monday again, and time for another Share Your World.

This week’s questions are about seasons, where we prefer to live, public transport and walking.

And somehow, my answers take me from the autumn colours of Norway to the mountains of Fuerteventura.

With Bella coming along for the walk, of course. 😂🐾

1. What is your favourite season?

Autumn.

I’ve always loved autumn.

Growing up in Norway, autumn meant beautiful colours, leaves changing from green to golden yellow, orange and red, and that wonderful crispness in the air.

There’s something magical about watching nature prepare for winter.

Now, living in Fuerteventura, autumn is rather different.

We don’t exactly have forests filled with colourful leaves, and the seasons aren’t as clearly defined as they were in Norway.

Here, autumn often means the temperature finally starts dropping a little.

And after months of heat, that’s something worth celebrating! 😂

When you’ve spent the summer feeling as though you’re living inside an oven, a few degrees less can feel like a Christmas present arriving early.

Although, knowing Fuerteventura, the calima might decide to make another appearance just to remind us who’s in charge.

2. Would you like to live by the seaside or in the country?

I think I’ve already found my answer.

In the countryside, but with a view of the sea. 💜

We live in the mountains of Fuerteventura, away from the busy tourist areas.

It’s peaceful, quiet and surrounded by nature.

And the lovely thing is that we can still see the sea from where we live.

So, in a way, I get the best of both worlds.

I love looking out towards the ocean, watching the sky change colours and enjoying the open landscape.

But I don’t necessarily want to live right beside a busy beach, surrounded by hotels, tourists and noise.

Give me the mountains, the silence, my animals and a view of the sea.

That’s my kind of paradise. 💜

3. When was the last time you used the bus?

About six months ago.

Living where we do, public transport isn’t always the most practical option.

We’re rather dependent on having a car, especially when we need to get somewhere at a particular time.

I don’t mind buses, but I certainly don’t use them regularly anymore.

And let’s face it…

Living up in the mountains, I can’t exactly step outside and expect a bus to appear every ten minutes.

4. If you took a walk, would it be in the woods, to the shops, walk the dog, to a park, or somewhere else?

Most of my walks are with Bella, our ten-year-old French Bulldog mix. 🐾❤️

Living in the countryside means we have plenty of open space around us.

But walking to the shops?

Hahaha!

That would be quite an expedition.

We’re too far away from the shops for that to be a practical everyday walk.

And as for walking in the woods…

Well, this is Fuerteventura.

Finding the woods might be the first challenge!

So I’ll happily take a peaceful walk with Bella instead.

Fresh air, mountains, beautiful views and my little four-legged companion.

Although Bella probably has her own ideas about where we should go and how long we should spend investigating every interesting smell along the way.

Gratitude 💜

This week I’m grateful for the peace and beauty of the place we call home.

I’ve lived in different countries and experienced very different landscapes.

From the green forests, mountains and changing seasons of Norway to the volcanic landscapes, open skies and Atlantic Ocean surrounding the Canary Islands.

Both have their own kind of beauty.

Sometimes I miss the autumn colours of Norway, the smell of wet leaves and that crisp air that tells you winter is approaching.

But then I look out from our home in the mountains of Fuerteventura.

I see the sea in the distance.

The wide-open sky.

The changing light across the landscape.

And I remember how much I appreciate the quiet.

Life doesn’t always have to be filled with noise, people and activity.

Sometimes happiness is simply sitting with a cup of coffee, watching the world wake up, or taking a little walk with Bella.

No crowds.

No rush.

Just nature, fresh air and a little peace.

And if autumn brings us a few cooler days after another long, hot summer…

Well, that’s definitely something to be grateful for!
