An Update From The Afterlove Voice

Some of you may have noticed that I’m spending a little less time here on my blog during weekdays.

Don’t worry, I haven’t disappeared, and I certainly haven’t stopped writing! 💜

I’ve simply fallen down another rabbit hole. And knowing me, you probably aren’t surprised.

I’m currently following the murder trial of Faith Hedgepeth, a 19-year-old university student who was brutally murdered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on September 7, 2012.

For fourteen years, Faith’s family has been waiting for answers.

In 2021, Miguel Salguero-Olivares was arrested and charged with her murder. He has pleaded not guilty, and his trial is now underway.

I’ve been following the courtroom proceedings, listening to witness testimonies, studying the evidence presented, and watching the coverage from Down the Rabbit Hole News, hosted by Rabbit (Alex).

And believe me, this case has raised quite a few questions in my mind.

There are witness statements, DNA evidence, timelines, phone records, and details from the original investigation that deserve careful attention.

But one thing is important to me: questions are not accusations, and suspicion is not proof.

Everyone deserves a fair trial, and Faith and her family deserve the truth.

I have always been someone who asks questions, looks beneath the surface, and wants to understand the whole picture rather than simply accepting the loudest narrative.

So, while the trial is ongoing, I may not be as active on WordPress during weekdays. I will still be writing, responding to prompts, reading your wonderful posts, and visiting your blogs whenever time allows.

My poetry, music, stories, and slightly questionable sense of humour aren’t going anywhere!

It’s just that my coffee cup currently has another important appointment.
