Three Things Challenge #MM559
Today’s three words:
FEET•FEAST• FESTIVAL
The Feet Remember Eventually
There are certain things you apparently forget with age.
Where you put your glasses.
Why you walked into a room.
And how much your feet hurt after dancing for hours.
The moment the music starts, none of that matters.
A good beat comes through the speakers and suddenly my brain announces:
Oh yes. We remember this.
And apparently my body agrees.
At least initially.
There’s something about a music festival that does it. The bass you can feel in your chest, lights flashing across the crowd, people dancing without caring who is watching.
For a little while, age disappears.
You’re not thinking about tomorrow.
You’re not wondering whether your back will complain in the morning.
You’re certainly not considering the wisdom of your footwear.
You’re simply dancing.
Then somebody mentions food.
Now that is an invitation I understand at any age. 😂
After hours of music, the festival stalls look like a feast fit for royalty.
Pizza?
Yes.
Burger?
Possibly.
Chips?
Obviously.
Something covered in cheese that I can’t quite identify?
Why not?
We find somewhere to sit, food balanced precariously on our knees, music still thumping in the distance.
And that’s when it happens.
I stand up.
My feet send an urgent message to headquarters.
WE ARE NOT TWENTY ANYMORE.
“Oh, shut up,” I mutter.
Someone looks at me.
“Did you say something?”
“Just negotiating with my feet.”
😂
Then another song starts.
A really good one.
I look towards the stage.
My feet know what’s coming.
Don’t you dare.
“Oh, come on. One more.”
Absolutely not.
The beat drops.
I stand up.
Because apparently my feet don’t get the deciding vote.
The music does.
