Three Things Challenge #MM556
Today’s three words:
CAUTIOUS •CHORD• COMPASS
When the Compass Points to Music 🎶
For years, she had been cautious.
Not afraid exactly. Just careful.
Life had taught her that roads could change without warning, plans could disappear overnight, and sometimes the safest thing was to remain where you were.
But there was one place where caution never seemed to follow her.
Music.
She sat at the keyboard one evening and played a chord.
Then another.
Nothing complicated. No grand plan.
Just a handful of notes that somehow expressed something words couldn’t.
She played them again.
And suddenly there was a melody.
It wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t need to be.
She smiled.
Funny, really.
People spend so much of their lives looking for a compass—something that will tell them which direction to take, which road is right, and where they’re supposed to end up.
Perhaps hers had been sitting in front of her all along.
Sometimes it was a piano.
Sometimes a guitar.
Sometimes a drum.
And sometimes it was an electronic beat loud enough to invite aliens to Fuerteventura.
She laughed at that thought.
Then she played the chord again.
At fifty-five, she still didn’t know exactly where the road was taking her.
But perhaps that was the point.
A compass doesn’t show you the whole journey.
It simply gives you a direction.
And hers had always pointed towards music. 💜
