What do you see # 358- 14 September, 2026

The Hands Beneath the Bridge

We spend so much of life
looking ahead.

Watching the road,
measuring the distance,
wondering whether the bridge beneath us
will carry our weight.

Sometimes we hesitate.

Sometimes we stand at the edge
and wonder whether we have enough courage
to cross at all.

But perhaps we forget to look beneath us.

For there are hands we cannot always see.

Hands of those who loved us.
Hands of those who taught us.
Hands that caught us when we fell
and released us when it was time to fly.

And perhaps there are other hands too —
those we cannot explain,
only feel.

The quiet presence that whispers,
Keep going.

The strange coincidence arriving
at precisely the right moment.

The strength appearing from somewhere
when we were certain we had none left.

Life never promises us
that every bridge will be easy to cross.

Only that sometimes,
when we think we are walking alone,

we discover we have been held
all along.

Thank you so much, Sadje! 💜 The image made me think of all the hands that support us throughout life, even when we cannot see them. I’m so happy the ending resonated with you. Thank you for another wonderful prompt!
