September — Day 10
How much money would you have to make, salary-wise, before you’re happy or content?
I don’t think I can put a number on it.
Money doesn’t buy happiness.
Of course, money matters. We need it to live, and not having enough can cause enormous stress. But earning more and more doesn’t automatically make someone happier.
For me, being content means having the basics covered:
A roof over my head, clothes on my back and food on the table.
If the bills are paid and my family has what they need, that’s far more important to me than having the biggest house, the newest car or an impressive number sitting in a bank account.
I’ve learned that some of the things that make me happiest don’t have a price tag anyway.
Family. Love. Friendship. Laughter. Writing. Music. Sitting outside with a cup of coffee. Watching a beautiful sunset. 💜
Would having a little extra money make life easier?
Absolutely. 😂 I’m not going to pretend I’d throw it back.
But there’s a difference between making life easier and making life happy.
So I don’t have a dream salary.
I have a much simpler definition of wealth:
Enough to live, people to love, and something that gives life meaning.
Anything beyond that is a bonus.
