Today’s three words:
INSTANT • INGEST • INSTALL.
Instant Expert
The box said:
EASY TO INSTALL.
That should have been my first warning.
Apparently “easy” meant:
Download the app.
Create an account.
Verify the account.
Update the app.
Restart the device.
Connect to Wi-Fi.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi.
Forget the Wi-Fi.
Find the Wi-Fi again.
By this point, I had ingested enough coffee to qualify as a minor electrical appliance. ☕😂
Then came the tutorial.
“Your device will be ready in an instant.”
Twenty-seven minutes later, it was still thinking.
So was I.
Eventually, one tiny light turned green.
Success!
I stood there proudly, feeling like I’d personally launched a satellite.
Then the screen displayed:
INSTALL UPDATE NOW?
I stared at it.
It stared at me.
I unplugged it.
Some technology improves your life.
Some technology teaches you new swear words. 😂
