Today’s three words:
FEISTY • FIERCE • FLACK
Apparently, I’m Difficult 😂
Someone once told her she was too feisty.
She smiled.
Someone else said she was too fierce.
She smiled again.
Then came the flack.
Too opinionated.
Too stubborn.
Too independent.
Too much.
Apparently, there was an acceptable amount of woman she was supposed to be, and she’d exceeded the recommended dosage. 😂
For years, she had tried making herself smaller.
She apologised when she wasn’t wrong.
Stayed quiet when she wanted to scream.
Said yes when every part of her wanted to say no.
Then one day she realised something.
People who benefited from her silence were always going to complain when she found her voice.
So she stopped apologising.
If standing up for herself made her feisty, so be it.
If protecting the people she loved made her fierce, she’d wear the word proudly.
And as for the flack?
She’d survived worse.
She picked up her coffee, adjusted her imaginary crown and smiled.
“Apparently I’m difficult.”
She took a sip.
“Good.”
