Breaking News: I Have an Announcement
There was an unusual bustle in the house.
People were moving around.
Doors were opening and closing.
Someone was looking for something they had definitely put “right there.”
The animals sensed drama and immediately became involved despite having absolutely no useful skills to contribute.
Then came the bluster.
“WHO MOVED IT?”
“I haven’t touched it!”
“Well, it didn’t grow legs!”
At this point, even the cats looked offended.
Clearly, accusations had been made.
Finally, I walked into the room carrying my coffee.
“What are you all looking for?”
Silence.
“My phone.”
I stared at the person speaking.
Then at their hand.
Then back at their face.
The bombshell landed.
“You’re holding it.”
Another silence.
They slowly looked down.
“Oh.”
And just like that, an extensive household investigation involving several innocent suspects came to an end.
The cats demanded a formal apology.
Bella is considering legal action.
And I went back to my coffee.
August, you may leave now.
