What’s the kindest thing someone has ever done for you?
First of all…
I nearly skipped today completely. 😂
I looked at the date and somehow decided it was already September 1st.
Apparently August only has 30 days in Maggie’s calendar this year. 🤣
Anyway…
Back to today’s question.
And WordPress, this is an impossible one.
What’s the kindest thing someone has ever done for me?
How could I possibly choose just one?
When you’ve lived a little, you’ve experienced kindness in so many different forms.
There have been people who stood beside me during some of the hardest chapters of my life.
People who listened without judging.
People who helped without being asked.
Friends and family who simply showed up when I needed them.
And complete strangers who saw someone needing help and didn’t hesitate.
Some acts of kindness have been enormous.
Others probably seemed insignificant to the person doing them—but meant everything to me at that particular moment.
Sometimes kindness is practical help.
Sometimes it’s a hug.
Sometimes it’s a message saying:
“I’m here.”
Sometimes it’s someone making you laugh on a day when you really didn’t feel like laughing.
And sometimes it’s simply knowing that someone chose to stay beside you when walking away would have been easier.
How do you rank those things?
I can’t.
So I’m not going to choose the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me.
Instead, I’ll be grateful for all the kindness I’ve received along the way.
Because every act of kindness, large or small, leaves something behind.
And perhaps the best way to thank all those people is to keep passing that kindness forward whenever I can.
We may forget exactly what someone said or did, but we rarely forget how their kindness made us feel. 💜
