If you could go back and witness any historical event, which one would you pick?
Oh, this is difficult.
There are far too many moments in history I’d want to see.
And since we’re apparently borrowing the Daily Prompt time machine again, I’m assuming I’m allowed to watch safely and return home afterwards. 😂
I think I’d travel back to ancient Egypt and witness the building of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
I’ve been fascinated by ancient Egypt since I was young.
I’d want to see the people behind it.
How did they organise such an enormous project?
What techniques did they actually use?
What did the surrounding landscape look like?
What was everyday life like for the people working there?
And I’d love to hear their language spoken rather than reconstructed thousands of years later.
Most of all, I’d want to see how much of what we believe today is correct—and how much would make me come back yelling:
“EVERYONE, YOU’VE GOT IT COMPLETELY WRONG!” 😂
Imagine having a camera with you.
Archaeologists would either adore me…
…or ban me from every museum on Earth. 🤣
There are other periods I’d desperately want to visit too.
Ancient Greece.
The Viking Age.
So many moments where history has left us pieces of the story but not the complete picture.
Perhaps that’s what fascinates me most.
History tells us what survived.
A time machine would let us see what was lost.
So yes, send me to ancient Egypt.
Just make sure the return button works.
With my luck, I’d accidentally press the wrong thing and end up in Arena 51. 👽🤣🤣💜
