#WeeklyPrompts Weekend Challenge – Confused
Confused

There are different levels of confused.
There is:
“Where did I put my glasses?”
Usually while wearing them.
There is:
“Why did I walk into this room?”
And then there is…
put me in a maze.
I am absolutely terrible in mazes.
At first, I will confidently walk in thinking:
How difficult can this possibly be?
Left.
Right.
Another left.
Oh, look! I’ve been here before.
Okay… right this time.
Five minutes later, I’ve passed the same hedge four times, I no longer know which direction I came from, and my confidence has officially left the maze without me.
Then confusion turns into panic.
Everyone else seems to be having fun:
“Let’s try this way!”
Meanwhile, I’m thinking:
WE HAVE TRIED THIS WAY. THREE TIMES. WE LIVE HERE NOW. 😂
I know perfectly well that it’s only a maze and there is an exit somewhere.
My brain, however, has already accepted that this is my new permanent address.
Eventually, somebody with a functioning sense of direction usually rescues me.
And the moment I see the exit?
Relief.
Freedom.
A solemn promise never to enter another maze again.
Which I will probably forget the next time someone says:
“Come on, it’ll be fun!”
Confused?
Yes.
Lost?
Definitely.
Going into another maze voluntarily?
Ask me again when I’ve forgotten the last one. 😂💜
