Fibbing Friday – 14.08.2026
This week I am going back to Victorian slang and asking how you would define these:

1 .Bricky —
Someone who buys one brick at a time because they’re building their house on a budget.
2.Chuckaboo —
A Victorian game where gentlemen politely throw ghosts at one another. 👻
3.Daddles —
The little dance a father does when he steps barefoot on a toy in the middle of the night.
4.Foozler —
A person who confidently explains something they know absolutely nothing about. Usually begins with, “Trust me, I know what I’m doing.”
5.Rovolveress —
A Victorian lady who spins around dramatically whenever someone mentions a scandal. Her natural habitat is beside the curtains.
6. Whooperups —
The noise made by a group of Victorians when somebody accidentally shows an ankle.
7. Escop —
The emergency escape route used when you see someone approaching whom you really don’t want to talk to.
8. Gigglemug —
The face you make when you’re desperately trying not to laugh during something very serious.
9. Mafficking —
The frantic waving of your arms when you’ve walked through a spiderweb and DON’T KNOW WHERE THE SPIDER IS.
10. Molliser —
A person whose sole responsibility is making sure everyone has enough blankets, tea and biscuits.
With love, coffee, poetry, and stardust,
