Get to Know You round 101
1 What everyday thing feels like a tiny luxury to you?
My morning coffee before everyone else has gotten up.
That little pocket of quiet, when the house is still asleep and nobody needs anything from me yet. Just me, my coffee, and a few peaceful minutes before the day begins.
Sometimes luxury doesn’t need to be expensive.
Sometimes it’s simply silence and a hot cup of coffee.
2 What’s the most random thing you’ve kept for sentimental reasons?
The first seashells my daughters found when we moved to the Canary Islands.
They’re only little shells, but I could never throw them away.
We moved here in August 2011, so those tiny shells belong to the beginning of a completely new chapter of our lives. To someone else they’re just something picked up on a beach.
To me, they’re memories.
3 What’s a hobby you’d try if someone handed you everything you needed?
Well… I’m actually living this one now. 🎹🎧🎶
I’ve been learning more about producing and mixing my own music, and now I have BandLab, where I can connect my instruments, work with the different sounds, and mix everything together.
There is a lot to learn — and occasionally I look at all those buttons and wonder what on earth I’ve gotten myself into 😂 — but I’m loving it.
And the timing of this question couldn’t be better, because today my new single, Silenced But Not Broken, is out on all streaming platforms. 💜🎶
So I suppose my answer is:
If someone handed me everything I needed to explore a hobby…
I’d turn it into music.
