If your future self could send you one sentence, what do you hope it would say?
If your future self could send you one sentence, what do you hope it would say?
I think I would want her to say:
“You made it through, and everything you kept believing in was worth fighting for.”
That’s it.
I wouldn’t want her to tell me whether I became successful.
I wouldn’t need lottery numbers—although, future me, if you’re reading this, I wouldn’t exactly complain. 😂
I wouldn’t even want to know everything that’s going to happen.
Some things we’re supposed to discover along the way.
I’d simply want to know that all the times I kept going when I was exhausted, all the times I chose hope when things looked impossible, and all the times I refused to silence my own voice eventually meant something.
I’d want to know that the music was worth creating.
That the words were worth writing.
That the battles worth fighting were worth it.
And perhaps most importantly, I’d want to know that somewhere along the journey, I remembered to actually live, too.
So if future me could whisper one sentence back through time, that would be enough.
You made it through.
Then I’d smile and answer:
I knew I would.
