Three Things Challenge #MM509
COLLAR • COLOUR • CONTOUR

We spend so much of life noticing what we can see.
The colour of someone’s clothes.
The contour of a face.
The style of a shirt and its collar.
All those little details that create a first impression.
But none of them tell us who a person really is.
A photograph can capture our outline.
A mirror can show us our reflection.
But neither can reveal the stories we’ve lived, the battles we’ve fought, the people we’ve loved, or the dreams we still carry.
And perhaps that’s why I’ve never liked putting people into neat little boxes.
We are far too complicated for that.
Our contours change.
Our colours change.
Even the collars we choose to wear change.
But underneath all those visible layers is something much harder to photograph.
The soul.
And that, I think, is where our truest colours are found.
