The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS August 1, 2026

Draw
Such a simple word, yet it can mean so many things.
As a child, I loved to draw. A blank sheet of paper could become anything—a horse galloping across a field, a quiet forest, or a night sky filled with stars. It didn’t matter if the lines were perfect. What mattered was the joy of creating.
These days, I still feel drawn to the same things. Nature. Music. The sea. Sunsets that paint the sky in shades of purple and gold. They have a way of drawing me out of my thoughts and back into the present moment.
Life has also taught me when to draw the line. Not every battle needs to be fought, and not every opinion deserves a response. Sometimes protecting your peace is the bravest thing you can do.
I think we all draw something from the people we meet. Kindness. Wisdom. Strength. Even the difficult moments leave us with lessons we might not have learned any other way.
So today, I’ll keep drawing inspiration from the little things—a warm cup of coffee, a gentle breeze, a bird singing outside the window, and the people who make life brighter.
Perhaps that’s the greatest masterpiece any of us can create: a life drawn with gratitude, hope, and love.
With love, coffee, poetry, and stardust,
— Maggie The Afterlove Voice 💫
