Pick a song — a favorite or let a random song generator pick one for you — listen to the lyrics, and then write a fictional (or not) story (or poem) that captures what you feel is the essence of the song’s message. It’s fun. Give it a try.
Beneath the Neon Lights
They say the brightest lights belong to cities, but I have learned they also live inside people.
I have walked through nights that seemed endless, where silence was louder than words and every step felt heavier than the last.
Still, somewhere ahead, a single neon glow refused to surrender.
It wasn’t asking me to be fearless. It simply whispered, “Keep walking.”
So I did.
Every scar became another color. Every tear reflected a little more light. Every goodbye made room for another sunrise.
Now, when the darkness returns, I no longer search the sky for answers.
I remember that even the smallest light can guide a weary soul home.
Sometimes, all it takes is one neon light to remind us we were never meant to disappear.
With love, coffee, poetry, and stardust,
