What’s a movie or book that inspired you to travel?

To be honest, I can’t say that a book or a movie has ever inspired me to visit a particular place.

I’ve always preferred discovering places for myself.

When we lived in Norway and had our caravan, some of our best adventures came from simply getting in the car and driving. We’d take roads we’d never travelled before, stop when something caught our eye, and enjoy the freedom of not knowing exactly where we’d end up.

Those unexpected discoveries often became our favourite memories.

We still do the same here in the Canary Islands.

There are so many hidden beaches, mountain roads, tiny villages, and breathtaking viewpoints waiting to be found. Sometimes the best days begin without a plan at all.

For me, travelling isn’t about ticking famous places off a list.

It’s about curiosity.

About taking the scenic route.

About seeing what’s waiting around the next bend in the road.

The greatest adventures aren’t always found in guidebooks. Sometimes they’re waiting just beyond the road you almost didn’t take.
