Fastidious
It’s one of those words that sounds almost too serious until you stop and think about what it means.
To be careful.
To notice the little things.
To refuse to settle for “good enough” when your heart knows there is something better.
I’ve never considered myself a perfectionist.
Life has taught me that perfection is an illusion.
But I do care about the details.
The right word in a sentence.
The pause between two lines of a song.
The photograph that captures a feeling rather than just a moment.
The quiet ritual of choosing a crystal, lighting a candle, or sitting with my bare feet on the earth before meditation.
Perhaps that is my kind of fastidious.
Not chasing perfection…
but honouring intention.
The smallest details often carry the greatest meaning.
A handwritten note.
A warm smile.
A hand reaching for another.
A single lyric that makes someone feel understood.
Those things are easy to overlook in a world rushing toward tomorrow.
I would rather slow down.
Notice.
Listen.
Create with care.
Because sometimes the difference between ordinary and extraordinary isn’t talent.
It’s the love we place into the details.
