Caught Again
“There you are!” the old tower huffed.
“I’ve been standing here for centuries, minding my own business, and suddenly everyone wants my photograph.”
Its windows widened in disbelief.
“Can’t a historic building enjoy a quiet afternoon without someone pointing a camera at its face?”
The houses nearby tried not to laugh.
“Oh, don’t pretend you don’t see it,” the tower grumbled. “Two eyes, a nose… I know exactly what I look like.”
A passing pigeon landed on the roof.
“Smile,” it cooed.
“I am smiling!” the tower protested.
“That’s just my doorway.”
The camera clicked.
The tower sighed.
“I suppose if you’re going to be remembered for hundreds of years, you might as well be photogenic.”
And secretly…
it rather enjoyed the attention.
