Share Your World : 6th July 2026

Here are this week’s questions & my answers

1 What was the last film/movie you saw at the theatre/cinema?

The last film I saw at the cinema was Transformers.

My only complaint is that here in Spain, almost every film is dubbed into Spanish. I much prefer watching movies in their original language with subtitles.

2 Do you like sequels or remakes?

I love the good old classics.

One remake I really enjoyed was A Star Is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I thought they both gave wonderful performances.

3 Have you ever read a book and thought of the ‘perfect person’ to play the lead role?

Absolutely

These days, with AI image creation, I often bring my favourite book characters to life by creating portraits of how I imagine they look. It’s a wonderful way to see beloved characters beyond the pages.

4 Fun question: Think of one of Hollywood’s tough guys and cast them in a ludicrous role.

I think Arnold Schwarzenegger would be hilarious as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella.

Imagine him appearing in a cloud of glitter and announcing:

“You vill go to the ball!” 😂

Now that would be a remake I’d happily watch!

Gratitude

I’m grateful for stories that stay with us long after the credits roll.

For books that spark the imagination, films that touch the heart, and the creativity that lets us bring fictional worlds to life in new ways.

Lovely share Maggie. Arnie would be a hoot!!
I’ve seen the original Star is Born, then Judy Garland and James Mason’s version, and Barbra Streisand and Kris Kirsitoffersen’s in 1976. I really enjoyed that and still cry at the end. I didn’t see Lady Gaga’s version as I read bad reviews.
Thanks for joining in this week.

I have seen all versions of a star is born .
But the I’m a big Lady Gaga fan , and also Bradley Cooper.

I would definitely watch Arnold as the Fairy Godmother! lololol

I love the Judy Garland ASIB version best (I’m a Judy Garland enthusiast lol), but agree that the Lady Gaga and Bradly Cooper one was really good.
