What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?

💫 Daily Prompt 29.06.2026
I’ve trusted my intuition for most of my life.
One experience has stayed with me for over forty years, and it strengthened a belief I still carry today.
I was sixteen years old, travelling by bus into Bergen, Norway. Everything seemed perfectly normal until I was suddenly overcome by an overwhelming feeling of sickness. It came out of nowhere.
Then I heard a quiet whisper within me.
It simply said, “Move to the other side of the bus.”
I didn’t question it.
I stood up and changed seats.
The moment I sat down on the opposite side, the strange feeling disappeared. A deep sense of calm washed over me, as if everything was suddenly all right again.
About five minutes later, the bus scraped violently against the mountainside. The windows along the side where I had been sitting shattered as the rock face tore into the bus.
Thankfully, there weren’t many passengers on board, but several people were injured.
I remember getting up, checking on those around me, and asking the driver if I should run for help. In 1986 there were no mobile phones, so I ran for about ten minutes to the nearest house. The family there immediately called the emergency services while I caught my breath.
Looking back, I know not everyone will explain that day the same way.
Some would call it instinct.
Others would call it intuition.
Some might simply call it coincidence.
But for me, I believe it was my spirit guides watching over me.
That quiet whisper wasn’t frightening. It was calm, gentle, and filled with certainty. It guided me to safety and, moments later, allowed me to help others when they needed it most.
That experience changed something deep inside me. From that day forward, I learned to trust the quiet voice that speaks without words. It has guided me through many moments in my life, and I remain grateful for its presence.
Whether you call it intuition, instinct, or the loving guidance of spirit, I will always be grateful that, on that day in 1986, I chose to listen to the whisper. 💜
